So a couple of weeks ago I met Ebba Barkenbom for the first time. A girl that takes anyone by storm. She approached me at Sture Gallerian in stockholm because she has been working for The Hello Project in Australia. And now that she and her husband had moved back to Sweden, she wants to start something similar here. I had never heard of it before. When she first told me that she’s a photographer for childbirths, as in like she shoots these kinds of photos in the delivery room. My first thought was- what? Why would I want a photographer in the delivery room when I’m going through the most intimate moment of my life with oscar. Well, after getting to know the most down to earth and genuine person I have ever met. And seen the amazing footages that you get from this, I couldn’t be more excited to have her there shooting the most intimate and powerful moment of mine and Oscar’s life.
Imagine getting a shoot like this, the first moment I see Maddox. The first second we meet. The second I get to feel his skin for the first time outside my body. The most powerful moment of my life. The moment that will forever change my life. And since I’m a person that always takes photos and absolutely adore photography myself couldn’t imagine not doing this now that I know about it.
There is already going to be 10 other people in that delivery room and I am going to be so focused on Maddox, so I don’t think I will even notice she is there. It’s not like she is standing next to us.
well anyways, I just wanted to spread the word. And I know your first thought will probably be Noooo…. but that’s because it hasn’t been done before and you haven’t been familiar to it before. But 2 years ago, you’d think a delivery vlog would be the most ridiculous thing you can do. And today not only blogger are making them, people are filming their on deliveries just to have for themselves. And for me, personally, it’s the last thing I’d want to do. Because I’d want to focus on every single moment of this incredible and life changing day and connect with Oscar every second I get. So filming myself during it, never. But I would definitely love having a photographer in the corner shooting this amazing experience. But that’s just me.
